Bank statement converter

Turn PDF bank statements into spreadsheet rows you can sort, sum and import.

How to convert a bank statement

  1. Download the statement as a PDF from online banking (not a photo or a print-to-image).
  2. Drop it above. The converter finds the transaction table, reads each row and merges descriptions that wrap onto two lines.
  3. Check the summary: if balances reconcile, you're done. If a row is flagged, fix it in the grid.
  4. Download CSV (free) or Excel, QBO or OFX (Pro).

What it handles

Questions

Why not just copy and paste from the PDF?

Pasting a statement into Excel usually lands everything in one column, splits descriptions and loses which number was a debit. The converter keeps columns and signs straight and checks the math.

Is my bank statement uploaded?

No. The PDF is opened and read inside your browser with pdf.js. Your transactions never reach our servers or anyone else's. Check your browser's Network tab while converting.

Which banks does it work with?

Any statement that is a real (text) PDF with a transaction table: date, description, and either one amount column or separate debit and credit columns, with or without a running balance. That covers most US and Canadian banks and credit cards. Scanned statements need OCR, which is in Pro.

How do I know the numbers are right?

Every row is checked against the statement's running balance (opening balance + credits − debits). Rows that don't add up are highlighted so you can fix them in the grid before exporting.
